Breeder Medal by finishing in the Bred by class, I am super proud of her first accomplishment. Now onto her field quest!

After her amazing Group 1 at Boca, Tegan and Dani took another Group 1 the following Sunday at the St. Petersburg show in Tampa, Florida! Judge KeKe Kahn said that when Tegi stepped into the Group ring, she could have excused all the other competitors; there was nothing else like her. "Strikingly beautiful bitch with gorgeous, floating movement" was her comment.

Rowdie Wins BOB, Tegi Wins BOS at Southern Skies Supported
On February 17th, 2013 under Judge Ann Hearn, Rowdie and Tegi won the highest honors in a huge field of specials dogs and bitches in Lakeland, Florida. This was a bittersweet moment for me as it was Rowdie's last show with his handler, but Tegi's first show out since having her first litter (as evidenced by her nakedness ;-)).

It's Finally Printed...
After years of saying "I'm going to do it", I did it! I finally finished my book. It's been a labor of love and a learning experience since starting my Jordie in the field over 12 years ago. I went through many reincarnations with different techniques and ideas until I came up with the one that works for me...and here it is...
WYN EARNS BRONZE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP!!
Below is Peg Forte's email to me:
"The Canine Chronicle statistics have finally included Wyn’s defeated dogs from her BOB at Hunterdon Hills on Aug 5th and that moved her into 10th place.
Her last two BOB wins will add enough points to get her over 100!"
That makes Wyn BRONZE GCH CH StormWatch Whirlwyn - adding her the the ranks of medalist Grand Champions from Isabel's first litter. Tegi - Silver, Rowdie - Silver, Kobe Bronze and now Wyn is Bronze. We are very proud of her!

A week after littermate, Mako, finishes his CH, Hart beats a group of 8 Specials to get him closer to his Grand Championship. Proud momma, Carol and her mom, Marge, were teary-eyed as the gallery of FCR folks cheered vigorously for her boy! 11 points and a major to go!
Mako (CH StormWatch Wind Legends, JH WC) New Champion!
Mako earned his American Championship at the St. Petersburg show in style going Best Of Winners! Big classes of dogs and bitches - Steve and Cindy are super proud of their super boy!! Mako is from Isabel's Magnificent 7 litter with English Ch Gayplume Dream-Maker and is the third to finish his CH. Mako also finished his JH this year. Now, on to Senior Hunter!
Operation StormWatch in Wisconsin and Orlando!
No pictures yet, but the FCRSA 2012 National Specialty was made even more Special for StormWatch with the Reserve Winners Bitch win by Eddy, StormWatch Kentucky Rain!! Paul and Shelley Jonas gave me the good news on my way to Orlando - they were over the moon!! In addition to Eddy, two other Jet/Is babies (soon to be 4 years) made two cuts in the huge BOB category...Rowdie and Wyn!!
While everyone was showing, winning and making big cuts in Wisconsin, Kobe and Hart were hard at work at the Orlando three day shows. Kobe took BOB both Friday and Saturday, and then on Sunday, half-bro Hart took BOB with Gramma Kathi at the end of the lead!! He looked and showed like a dream - Carol and Marge were thrilled and it was so wonderful to have so many of our loyal SSFCRC members there to watch Hart and me in the Group ring.
In the midst of Tropical Storm Debby, StormWatch was in full operation!!

What a week! Tegan Wins SSFCRC Supported!!
After winning Best of Opposite at The Westminster Kennel club show on Tuesday, February 14th, Tegi drove all the way from New York to Lakeland to go Best Of Breed on Saturday, February 18th at the Southern Skies Supported Entry!!
Tegi will take a couple of weeks off from showing to train for field and will be working toward Master for the upcoming season. Already earning her WCX last year, we may enter the WC/WCX field event for fun on March 11.

TEGI IS BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX AT THE GARDEN!
Just back from our very first experience at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show where Tegi took BOS!! Although the experience was overwhelming, it was so worth it. Both Tegi and brother Kobe looked stunning in the tiny ring that didn't really allow for showing movement.
It was exhausting yet awesome - all at the same time!

KOBE WINS EUKANUBA 1st AWARD OF EXCELLENCE!
On December 17, 2011, our Kobe won the first Award of Excellence at the 11th annual Eukanuba Cup! In a field of 32 Grand Champions and Champions from all over North America, Kobe was Judge Charles Olvis first AOE. Tegan and Rowdie made the cut of the 32, which was most honorable.
The shows leading up to the Cup were very beneficial to our StormWatch gang as well. Mako took BOW on both Thursday and Friday, earning him 5 more points and a major toward his CH; Tegan took BOS on Wednesday and Select Bitch on Friday, Rowdie took BOB and Kyla earned Select Bitch on Thursday; and Hart made the cut on Friday in a huge group of Best of Breed Flat-Coats!

Tegan Gets Invitation to Westminster - Top 5!!!
The postman brought us at StormWatch a wonderful envelope that let us know that Tegi is officially one of the Top FIVE flat-coated retrievers in the United States! And with that came the invitation to Westminster 2012. Kobe has also been chosen to participate in Westminstser but had to be drawn in a lottery (he is no. 19 in the U.S.) since Westminster is only allowing 2000 dogs this year.
Look out New York - watch for the Storm, it's coming!
NEWS FLASH!! Brother KOBE is going to Westminster as well! Kobe made the cut for the lottery at Westminster and will be joining sister Tegi!!

Two Canadian Championships in 3 days!!
Kobe winning his last point for his Canadian Ch!
Just returning from my trip to Nova Scotia for the FCRSC National Specialty, the Booster and the all-breed shows that followed. Kobe and Tegan went toe-to-toe winning 5 point majors and 4 point majors in just 2 days (Tegi would win BOB then Kobe would win BOB, then Tegi would go BOS and then Kobe.) Needing one more point each (and one more judge since 3 judges are needed to complete the CH), they finished up their Canadian Championship in true sibling style by Kobe taking the boys points for WD and BOS, and then Tegan going BOW and then BOB under Judge Wendy Schira.
While at the National, it was lovely to see everyone and lots of my puppies from the first litter and grand-kids from Corry (Kobe and Tegi's brother living with Susan Ware.)Two other littermates were David Simpson's Brodie, who made the cut in the BoB ring; as did Peg Forte's Wyn (who also took Winners Bitch and a 5 point major at the Specialty with me showing her); Wyn and Tegan won the Brace class; while grandpups Rajah and Bette (owned by Susan, owned by Joyce Fraser respectively) did well. Rajah took best puppy in Sweeps and reserve best puppy in Specialty. Ultimately, cousin Vita, owned by Susan, won BOB at the Specialty!
We, along with Jet and Isabel, are super proud of their offspring, grandkids and relatives.

Five Days, Five StormWatch Best of Breeds and an OH Group ONE!!
Just got home on August 15th from a 5 day show in North Carolina. Great results with 4 BOBs by Tegi, 1 BOB by Kobe, 2 points for Kyla, 1 point for Kona, Select Bitch points for Flyer and Select Dog points for Rowdie. And, the coolest new thing - Kobe winning the new Owner Handler Sporting Group! (Huge group of owner handled CH's!) Also, Peg Forte finished her lovely Wyn - making that 7 Champions from the Isabel/Jet 10.
GROUP TWO AT WEST PALM BEACH!
Tegan took a Group 2 in West Palm Beach after going Best of Breed on Saturday AND Sunday, July 16 & 17. Brother Kobe took BOS on Sunday, brother Rowdie earned two 3 point GrCh dog majors and sister Flyer earned two days of bitch GrCh points! Plus, got to hang out with some of the best FCR folks in the world! Man, you guys cheer louder than anyone!!
BRONZE TEGAN!
At the Lousiana four-day shows, on June 9-11th, Tegan took BOB all four days (while brother Kobe took BOS all 4) putting her Grand Championship points over the top for the Bronze level Grand Championship award. Tegi is the first Florida Bronze GCH! We love medals!
The AKC rankings are out making Tegi No. 8 and Kobe No. 14 in FCR Breed, and Tegi No. 12 and Kobe No. 13 in All Breed.

StormWatch Wins BIG at the Georgia Supported Entry!
Tegi Wins a Group 4!
The 9.5 hour trip to Watkinsville, Georgia was well worth the effort the weekend of May 7-8th, 2011. The Flat-Coat Fanciers of Georgia held its Supported entry in the Oconee Historical site on Saturday. Kobe, (CH StormWatch The Perfect Storm, JH WCX CGC) won Best of Breed over 43 other flat-coated entered. Sister Tegan, (GCH CH StormWatch Thunderclapp Tegan, JH WCX CGC) earned the 5 point major toward her Bronze GCH by going Select Bitch.
The next day, with 33 FCRs entered, Tegi was the big winner of the day, by winning BOB and then a Group 4!! Kobe won the Best of Opposite and the 5 point major toward his GCH - which finished his Grand Championship title (pending AKC approval.) Judge Anne Bolus, who awarded Tegan her Group 4, commented that she loved her type and movement, but would have loved to have given Kobe (where is my boy? she said!) a Group 2. (She was Kobe's breed judge on Saturday.)

The Storm was Raging at SSFCRC WC/WCX!!!
Steve Pace and Mako are one of 5 StormWatch title earners!
On March 13th, 2011, StormWatch kids came out in force! 6 pups from Isabel's first and second litters worked hard all year to make their attempt at earning WC's and WCX's!! Of the 6, 5 succeeded - Rowdie made it all the way to the water honor but broke when the judge yelled "OK, Carole Beth!" as loudly as possible!
The newly titled pups are: Kobe (WCX), Tegan (WCX), Flyer (WC), Kona (WC), and Mako (WC). Kobe, Tegi, Flyer and Kona were handled by me and Mako was trained and handled by his dad, Steve!
Lots of lovely ribbons and certificates made for a very nice day!

StormWatch's Kathi Leonhardt is an AKC Breeder Of Merit!
The day after Jet won his BIS at Crufts and Kobe & Tegi earned their WCX's; and Flyer, Kona and Mako earned their WC's, I was awarded the AKC Breeder of Merit certificate! It came complete with a lovely silver lapel pin indicating the same sentiment.
It did my heart good to see that the AKC recognized my efforts as a breeder and the efforts of all my puppies and their people.

Daddy Jet wins BEST IN SHOW AT CRUFTS!!
On March 13, 2011, Eng Sh CH VBOS The Kentuckian, won the highest honor in the dog show world - Best in Show at Crufts - the world's largest dog show! Jet and Jim Irvine beat over 22,000 dogs to claim the much coveted trophy. Pictured here at 9.5 years of age, Jet wowwed the judge and the Crufts crowd with his lovely type and happily wagging tail! Jet's children (Tegan, Kobe, Flyer, Rowdie, Corry, Brodie, Wyn, Eddy, Flash and Doc) all send their love and admiration!! (As does their mom, Isabel!)
Group 3 for Kobe!!!
Three weeks after Kobe earned his CH, on February 21, 2011, he brought home a Group THREE!! With his mom on him, Kobe was able to defeat 25 other Sporting breeds with some of the biggest handlers in the nation on them! Not only did he exceed my wildest imagination with his breeder/owner/handler showing him, but at the 4 day Cluster in Lakeland, Fl, he was able to earn 2 Grand Champion majors and all the CH defeated points toward his Grand Championship! Not bad for his first weekend out as a Special (which, btw, was a move up since I was hedging my bets for his American Championship.)
